Bringing Hope to Idaho

I’m leaving for Idaho this evening to meet with clinical partners.

Our team started providing care into communities in Northern Idaho earlier this year.

Here are some of the state’s key mental health statistics:

  • 100% of Idaho is designated a mental health professional shortage area.

  • Worst ratio of psychiatrists to population in the US. There is only 1 psychiatrist for every 16,294 people.

  • The state’s suicide rate is 56% higher than the national average. In 2022 it was 22.2 per 100,000 people vs. 14.2 per 100,000 nationally.

  • In 2020, the rate of adolescent suicide was 21.5 per 100,000 compared to 10.8 per 100,000 nationally.

Frontier Psychiatry delivers all-virtual psychiatric care and addiction treatment.

We are on a mission to lift the mental well-being of rural Americans.

More to come from Idaho…!
