Matthew Thompson, MD, MPH

Dr. Thompson received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston then completed psychiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is board-certified in general and geriatric psychiatry; he later became board certified in addiction medicine. He will soon complete a Master of Public Health degree with focus on Healthcare Management from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has served as director for an inpatient general psychiatry unit, a geriatric psychiatry unit, and an addiction treatment center. He enjoys teaching residents and students. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
